Frequently asked questions

Our expansion joints are available in an ATEX-compatible quality (explosive atmospheres).

Due to its insulating properties, rubber is a very poor conductor of electricity.

Being naturally non-conductive, rubber conducts very little electricity. Bonding straps may be necessary to discharge static electricity, earth a pipeline or ensure equipotential bonding between two pipes.

Unlike fixed or split flanges, rotating flanges allow misalignment between pipe flanges to be accommodated without subjecting the expansion joint to torsional stress. Twisting of elastomeric expansion joints is prohibited.
